The shot opens up on the corner of a long white hallway. The walls pristine in a way you almost couldn’t expect white to be. Around the corner comes Avery Quinn in a black suit. The contrast of the colors makes him standout. Your eyes are just drawn to him. Quinn begins to speak as he walks.
“Hello everyone, I’m simply delighted that you have chosen to spend your time to watch this. There’s so much to cover so I won’t waste time with semantics. When SAP shut down last year I knew in my mind it wasn’t a permanent thing. Instead it was something that almost had to happen. We rose and despite continuing to expand and grow it almost felt forced. Like we were falling but mostly because we were failing behind the scenes. Not so much in a financial sense but more the environment and the feel backstage.”
“In our attempts to appeal to specific demographics we went over the top at times. The atmosphere that was created wasn’t the most professional and seemed more focused on jokes and a party atmosphere. We were forgetting what was most important in itself, the wrestling. A large part of that is my fault. I left the majority of the day to day operations to my children. In the hopes that they could run it efficiently with ease. If SAP had stayed a smaller company in the northeast they likely would have been able to handle it. SAP became too large for them to handle and that’s my fault. I should have seen that they weren’t ready for such a daunting challenge.”
“So instead I made the decision to close the doors for a time and change the culture of SAP from the bottom up until the time was ready to relaunch. I traveled around the world pitching my new ideas to numerous investors to make sure that when the time came we would be prepared and to be the dynamic company that we always should have been. Which also means that plenty of changes have to be made for this to happen. The first being an overhaul to how the company handles itself. While having fun is important and jokes are alright I feel that we spent too much time joking around that we were becoming the joke itself. So it is important that we conduct ourselves in better fashion.”
“Next is our schedule. I feel that in order for SAP to function at it's full potential that each event should be treated like a spectacle. Thus we will only do one event a month at larger arenas. It is the goal of SAP to bring some of the best professional wrestling that can be seen. Therefore each show should be treated special and that is our goal. We will run the last Sunday of every month.”
“Next comes the issue of our championships. There will be some changes here. During our last show there was a controversial ending to the X championship match. Two people were holding the championship at the end which led to an unresolved issue. Due to the changes in our format we have decided to rebrand the X championship into the Television championship. This title will be defended every month in matches with a 15 minute time limit. As for who the champion will be this is something that will be resolved at our first show. Our oldest championships, the National Championship and the World tag team championships, will experience no changes. The North Atlantic championship will be rebranded into the International championship. Also with the former champion stepping away from wrestling we will have a tournament to crown a new champion. Finally the North American championship will be rebranded into the World championship. When it comes to the duration of title reigns of those who held them during the hiatus we will only count the days leading up to the hiatus and then start counting again on July 16th, our technical third anniversary. As always in SAP we believe everyone can control their own future. Due to us being monthly we have devised a plan that will allow people to challenge for championships. Any wrestler who wins a match in any format will be given a point. If you lose a match you lose a point. After you have accrued three points you can challenge for any title of your choosing. Of course in situations where no one has enough points or if a champion remains unchallenged we will find a person acceptable of the challenge.”
Quinn then walks into a large room with a blank screen behind him.
“When it comes to other details you will all be informed along the next few weeks. All in all I’m just excited for us to be back and we’re ready to restock our roster with some of the best in the world along with some of the best from SAP’s past. This is truly a great time for us. So I hope you will all join us in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 28th when…”
The screen then lights up with a video of the earth spinning.
“we go...worldwide.”
