In Ring Information

Gimmick: Jessica was once the Paladin of the Guardians, a familial group of heroic people who wish to protect the weak and powerless from those who would antagonize them. Now...? She is Sathariel the Oathbreaker, an Angel for the Children of Nephilim.
Wrestling Style: Aerial/Submission with Agility Strikes and Defensive Tactics
Years Pro: 7+
Strengths:
AGILITY | As far as Dungeons & Dragons ability scores go, Jessica is a dexterity-based paladin! She can keep up with the fastest wrestlers and sometimes outmaneuver them.
HIGH TENACITY | To reference Undertale by Toby Fox, she is filled with determination -- and A LOT of it. She's inspired by Johnny Maverick's motto: "Never give up, never surrender, never relent!" (NGUNSNR)
PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORY | Born with an eidetic memory, this makes her a quick learner, able to adapt to different opponents accordingly.
Weaknesses:
STRENGTH | Now for her weakest ability score as a paladin. Jessica can bench press up to two hundred pounds, but she's not winning a contest of strength against a powerhouse. If she can't outrun or outsmart her opponent, she's in trouble!
SIZE DISADVANTAGE | Ah, the Edward Elric Syndrome. She is small and sometimes she's going to have a difficult time with larger opponents.
EMOTIONALLY DRIVEN | She wears her heart on her sleeve. Despite emotional training over the years, she can still be compromised. A well-planted mind game or the assault of a loved one will cause her to lose her self-control.
Theme Song: "A Demon's Fate" by Within Temptation
Biography: The daughter of Franz and Odelia Sears, Jessica and her older brother Zachary spent their early childhood living in Queens, New York. Despite their early sibling rivalry, the tragic event of 9/11 forever changed their familial relationship for many years.
Their entire family moved to Toronto, Canada and lived there for several years, becoming friends with many of their neighbors, including the Pryce family. While Jessica had a gift in photographic memory and endless love for the geek culture, she was constantly targeted by bullies and often suffered from peer pressure. Her brother and their friends would do what they could to protect her, but she was too afraid to learn how to fend for herself. Despite her hardships, she pursued her love of video gaming and wanted to turn pro. Her father would be her ongoing supporter and her biggest fan until he passed away from ischaemic heart disease on January 10th, 2014.
It was this sense of powerlessness, as well as witnessing the hospitalization of two of her friends, that would trigger Jessica’s fighting desire. She wanted to learn how to defend herself as well as her friends. The one and only Strong Style Saint in Jaime Alejandro would see this burning passion and teach her how to wrestle. Even with Zachary’s objections, Jaime refused to take no for an answer and instead convinced him to give his sister a chance. Her training would come full circle upon her professional debut in September 2014 when she won her debut match in a big way. Though a horrible end of a tag-team match forced her into a coma at the end of December 2014, once Jessica awakened she was determined to try and make her return.
Her brother Zachary would object this decision, but her newfound friend in Ricky Valero encouraged her to make the comeback a reality. He trained her in the schooling of the Valero Fight Club and she was able to officially step back into the ring. Jessica and Ricky would quickly become best friends with a genuine student/teacher chemistry. As she continued to hone her skills in multiple independent companies, her travels to Indianapolis, Indiana opened her eyes to the newly-opened Indy Pro Wrestling in January 2016, the same company her brother Zachary made his professional debut in. Inspired by excitement and limitless possibilities, Jessica decided to join the entourage alongside her brother.
Although she did not begin with a very strong match record, a golden opportunity would present itself in the IPW Evolved 3 Tag-Team Battle Royale. Teaming up with Tara Dola, they would be victorious and earn championship matches of their choosing. Jessica challenged the undefeated Jacob Daniels and accomplished the impossible: she dethroned him and became the new IPW Heavyweight Champion! It was a glorious feat, and regardless of the criticism of her peers, it was the great victory that no one could ever take away from her. Sadly, after the bloody end of IPW's Redemption pay-per-view, the painful news of her mother’s full diagnosis of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) would force her and Zachary to be released from IPW and NGW respectively.
Despite the time away, the call of the wrestling ring continued to resonate out to Jessica. While moving to Queens, New York allowed her to live closer to her mother, it also allowed her to search for a wrestling company with a manageable work schedule within the state of New York. Abiding by her mother’s request to live her life and pursue her love of the industry, her curiosity had been peaked by Ty Buchbinder’s creation, SAP (formerly Southern Adirondack Pro, now Spirit and Pride) Wrestling. Her comeback in the industry brought her and fellow SAP wrestler Geki Nitoh together as a couple and a tag-team: Sonkei Senshi. On January 21st, 2017, after their amazing main event match on SAP's Ascension for the National Championship, Geki proposed to Jessica in the ring and she accepted with tears in her eyes. The lovely couple officially married May 5th, 2017.
A few months later, in an unexpected turn of events, breaking news by Cass Baumer revealed that Jessica and Geki were recently divorced. Jessica made the unfortunate confirmation, herself, and it was dated September 9th, 2017. Even though it left her heartbroken, she continued to carry on. During a low moment in her wrestling career in September, a young man named Dean Matthews extended his services to train her. While he was married, it was hard to deny the chemistry between the newfound friends. Alas, when his cousin Lena told her about his death in late-December 2017, Jessica was shocked. She regretted not spending more time with Dean and felt a disconnection from the world.
On January 10th, 2018, a shocking family revelation revealed that Jessica and Zachary have an older half-sister on their father’s side named Everalda Sears-Theron. They also have a young nephew named Klaus, his German name a devotion to their father. Later in the month, a Freudian slip by a "hacker" using Dean Matthews' Twitter account allowed Jessica to realize... Dean was still alive. His death was a lie and a gross exaggeration by Lord Lucifer and the Children of Nephilim after Proving Grounds 2017. Dean was simply in hiding, as the Children were hunting him down. She tried to convince him to give his coordinates, but at first, he refused. After Kate Bass, one of Jessica's closest friends, was brutally attacked by the Children, the Paladin exclaimed that she would go after the Devil, himself. This caused Dean to compromise with her, telling her he would surrender the coordinates to his current location if she relented her attack. She agreed, and soon he was flown to her home on February 6th. With the help of Rosalyn Fernandes, who prevented the Children from being able to track Dean and Jessica's whereabouts, Jessica was able to nurse Dean back to health and the two of them made a surprise appearance on Unleashed #30. Her debut and his return were able to complete The Resistance to oppose the Children in what was simply known as "The War". At Predator & Prey, by the miracle of Melissa Aki's betrayal of Lucifer, The Resistance survived War Games against the Children and their loved ones were set free, including Zachary Sears and Samuel Hemlen.
Even when the two were just friends, Kate established a ship name for Dean and Jessica: #Deansica. The couple started dating on February 18th, 2018. They were engaged as of July 7th, 2018 before they officially married on March 26th, 2019.
